Linnig was established in Germany in 1971 by Karl Heinz Linnig.The 1st major development was an electromagnetic fan clutch for buses/coaches - innovatively based on the "steel on steel" working principle.The new development had major advantages:High loading capacity and stability of switchable torque.The market immediately realized these advantages and the innovation became globally renown,sparking rapid growth for the Company.Since 1978, technologies for electromagnetic drive applications of commercial vehicles are being developed at the head office in Markdorf.In 2007, the Company was integrated into the Kendrion Group as the Commercial Vehicle Systems business unit.As a result, the Kendrion LINNIG brand today globally stands for engineering know-how, for motion and innovation, for reliability and for high standards.Commercial Vehicle Systems globally develops and produces components and systems for commercial and special-vehicle applications.
